Reports of the Surgeon General
In the United States, the Surgeon General (whose title means chief surgeon) is the federal government's principal spokesperson on matters of public health. In 1964, Surgeon General Luther L. Terry (1961-1965) issued Smoking and Health, the first Surgeon General's report to receive widespread media and public attention.

World Health Organisation (WHO)
A world view of smoking related topics. Includes fact sheets, discussions about legislation, tobacco consumption and smoking related diseases. WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system.

Cancer Research UK
The world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. Supports research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses.

U.S National Cancer Institute (NCI)
NCI's main responsibilities include coordinating the National Cancer Program; conducting and supporting cancer-related research; training physicians and scientists; and disseminating state-of-the-art information about cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, control, palliative care, and survivorship.
